Compared to David Gemmell in a review

My battle scenes are often mentioned as one of the highlights of my work. So when Australian Bookseller + Publisher reviewed The Risen Queen and compared my battle scenes to the late, great David Gemmell, I was obviously delighted!

I have written the first in what could be a series about a 12-year-old boy who becomes ruler of a British kingdom around 500AD, in what will be a different take on the Arthurian legend.

Set after the Romans have left, when the British were under siege from the Saxons, the Irish and the Picts, there's plenty of scope to have fun with this.

I am also writing the first in what could be a series about the Roman invasion of Britain. I'm about 60,000 words into the first draft, with about a 100,000 word target.

Featuring the legendary Treasures of Britain, this features real characters from history as well as a boy and his father trying to stay ahead of the Romans, the druids and vengeful Celts.

I will let you know more later!

There will be more books coming from me ... all that remains to be seen is when and where and how!
